My Hotels.com Reservation Was For a Closed Campsite
I am absolutely outraged with Hotels.com! They booked me a reservation for a campsite that's permanently closed and not operating. If I hadn't double-checked, I would have arrived to find the gates locked and my vacation utterly ruined. I spoke directly with the campsite owner, who confirmed they haven't been taking reservations since the New Year and are definitely closed, yet Hotels.com continued to accept bookings!
I made my reservation in March because the listing on Hotels.com showed it was open. This means for three months, people have been booking stays at a closed venue through Hotels.com. Because I planned this months in advance, I secured a discounted rate for my intended destination, and now I can't even go! I absolutely refuse a simple refund as compensation for this mess. This isn't just an inconvenience; it's a monumental screw-up by Hotels.com.
To add insult to injury, when I tried to call the provided phone number to explain my complaint, it wouldn't even connect me to a customer service representative. Hotels.com, you need to rectify this immediately. I demand more than just a refund; I want appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and the loss of my discounted booking due to your gross negligence. This kind of deceitful booking is unacceptable, and I expect a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this frustrating ordeal.
