I Paid Hotels.com for My Stay but They Refused to Issue an Invoice
I booked and prepaid for a hotel in Cappadocia through Hotels.com, expecting a smooth and professional experience. The payment included taxes, and everything seemed in order—until I asked for an invoice. To my shock, I was told they can’t issue one and that “this is how their system works.”
This is completely unacceptable. I paid in full, and without an invoice, it looks like I took money out of my company illegally, since I can’t submit the expense through accounting. I’ve followed up multiple times and received nothing but vague excuses.
Hotels.com, if you’re charging customers in advance—including taxes—you are legally and ethically obligated to provide a proper invoice. This affects people who need to report business expenses or justify travel costs.
