Holiday Inn Repeatedly Called for Payment While I Was Sleeping

On New Year's Eve (December 31, 2024), my girlfriend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Şişli on Halaskargazi Street. We were informed that we could check out by 12:00 PM on January 1, 2025. Since we returned late from New Year's celebrations, we decided to extend our stay for one more night.

At around 7:00 AM, I called the front desk and asked them to extend our booking, explaining that we were exhausted and needed sleep. I also clearly stated that I would come down to the reception and pay for the extra night once I woke up. However, at 12:00 PM, the receptionist called my room, demanding payment immediately. I told them again that I was still sleeping and would pay once I woke up.

Then, at 2:00-3:00 PM, they called again, asking if I would come down to pay. This was incredibly frustrating! I went to the reception and told them, "I am not some scammer running away without paying! Why are you constantly calling and disturbing my rest?" We came to this hotel to relax, not to be harassed over payment.

This whole situation was humiliating in front of my girlfriend, making us feel like we were trying to avoid paying, which was absolutely not the case. Is this how Holiday Inn treats guests? Calling them multiple times while they are resting just for payment? My ID was already on record, my reservation was confirmed, and I made it clear that I would pay.

This was the first and last time I will ever stay at Holiday Inn. Guests should not be treated like potential scammers on New Year's Day when they are simply trying to rest. I am extremely disappointed and expect Holiday Inn to review its policies regarding how they treat paying guests!
