Suspicious Credit Card Transactions After Staying at Holiday Inn Express
Dear Hotel Management,
On October 7, 2024, I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Ankara Akyurt, booking through Hotels.com. Upon arrival at the reception, the staff requested my ID and credit card for authorization purposes. I arrived at the hotel around 11:30 PM, exhausted, and handed over my card before briefly stepping away. A few minutes later, I retrieved it and went to my room to sleep.
However, at around 3:00 AM, I noticed multiple unauthorized attempts on my card for online gambling and shopping. When I called my bank, I was informed that numerous transactions had been attempted, forcing me to immediately block my card. The only place I had used this card that day was at the hotel reception, which raises serious concerns.
Strangely, when I made a new reservation the next day, a different staff member only requested my ID and did not require a credit card for authorization. This inconsistency is alarming. I am concerned that my card may have been photographed or copied.
I demand a thorough investigation, including reviewing security footage from the reception during my check-in time. I expect a prompt response regarding the findings. Legal action has already been initiated. Please take this matter seriously. Thank you for your attention.
