Hilton Demands Extra Fees Despite Prepaid King Rooms

July 10, 2024 8:41 AM14

On July 8, 2024, my fiancé, mother-in-law, and I checked into Beylikdüzü Hilton after prepaying for two separate King Rooms for one week. Despite booking double occupancy rooms, the receptionist claimed the rooms were priced per person and demanded an additional ₺800 per night for me as the second guest. This charge was unjustified since both rooms were explicitly booked as double occupancy.

When we refused to pay the extra fee, the receptionist raised his voice, stating we wouldn’t even be allowed to use the elevator without paying. Our luggage was left unattended near the elevator by staff. Ultimately, I was forced to find another hotel. The receptionist went as far as saying, “I’m the manager, and if I don’t want you here, I won’t let you stay.”

This treatment was unacceptable, especially after a 36-hour drive. My mother-in-law was deeply upset and cried due to the stress caused by the situation. As a frequent traveler, I’ve never encountered such behavior before. I demand Hilton address this issue and ensure that such misconduct does not happen again. A formal apology and explanation are expected.
