Holiday Autos Car Rental Extra Charge

I booked a fully prepaid rental car via Holiday Autos (booking reference IT888405790) with Green Motion at Florence Airport, Italy, for the period between 6 August 2026 and 17 August 2026. I arrived at the Green Motion desk with my small children and luggage, expecting the rental to be provided according to the prepaid voucher and agreed terms. However, instead of honoring the booking conditions, the staff insisted that I had to purchase additional insurance and pay cleaning fees that were not part of the original agreement. I was told that if I did not accept these extra charges, I would not receive the car and would lose the money I had already paid online. Under this pressure and in a situation where I was effectively stranded with my family, I felt I had no real choice but to sign and accept the extra costs, which roughly doubled the price of the rental. I have attached proof of the extra charges, including the transaction of 279.34 on 8 August 2026. After the rental, I contacted Holiday Autos with case reference 03294138, but they refused to help, claiming that because I “signed at the desk” they bore no responsibility, ignoring the fact that this happened under clear coercion. This experience made me feel completely misled and trapped, and I consider the practices of both Green Motion and Holiday Autos to be aggressive and predatory towards customers who arrive with families and limited options. I am requesting a full refund of all extra charges that were added at the Green Motion desk beyond what was originally prepaid via Holiday Autos, and I ask that this case be properly reviewed so that such practices are not repeated for other customers.
