Grok Charged $34 Despite Offering a Two-Month Free Trial
On October 3, 2026, at approximately 2:50 PM, I saw an offer in the Grok app on my Android device stating, “Try Grok Super Lite free for 2 months.” I subscribed based on this offer. However, immediately after initiating the subscription, I was charged $34 before the free trial even began.
Approximately five minutes after noticing the charge, at around 2:55 PM, I canceled the subscription. I then requested a refund through Google Play, but my request was denied. Since very little time had passed since the purchase, I canceled the subscription within minutes, and I had specifically signed up based on the “2 months free trial” offer, I request a refund of the $34 charged to my card.
I would also like to point out that my Google Play payment history shows this transaction, dated October 3, 2026, as a “SuperGrok” subscription under SpaceXAI LLC, and the full amount was charged. I ask that this issue be resolved and my money refunded as soon as possible, as I was misled by the offer and canceled the subscription almost immediately.
