I purchased an Air China round-trip ticket (Istanbul–Tokyo / Tokyo–Istanbul) through GoToGate, paying extra for a flexible ticket and an extra flexibility package. I wanted to move my March 2026 trip to November 2025. Since 6:00 a.m. today, I’ve been trying to make this change, but when I attempt it on the site, the fare difference for a flight originally costing $117 suddenly jumps to an outrageous $8,980.
Customer service told me to wait while they contacted the airline, but no one can reasonably explain how a $117 fare difference turns into $9,000–$100,000. On Air China’s own website, I can still see affordable flights, yet GoToGate’s system shows massively inflated prices. I’ve already paid more than $1,987 by credit card, and I’m not getting the flexibility I paid for.
I’ve been on hold for hours with no solution. If the issue lies with GoToGate’s system and the lower-priced Air China tickets sell out, I want to know how my financial loss will be compensated.
I expect to receive the benefits of my flexible ticket and extra flexibility package and to be able to make the date change at the reasonable prices displayed on the site. I urgently request a prompt response and resolution.
