Obilet and Goldcar Demanded Unfair Repair Payments and Kept My Rental Deposit

I rented a car through Obilet via the Goldcar YHT branch. However, instead of the vehicle I originally selected through Eurocar during booking, a completely different vehicle was provided to me. I rented the vehicle on July 19, 2026, and returned it on August 10, 2026.

While the car was in my possession, an external incident occurred within a gendarmerie jurisdiction, resulting in a broken side mirror. Gendarmerie officers arrived at the scene and prepared an official incident report. When I returned the vehicle, I submitted this official report to the staff, who explicitly told me that because an official report was present, I was not at fault, the damage would be fully covered by insurance, and I could leave without issue.

Despite these assurances, someone contacted me several days later claiming that I had to pay for the repair costs out of pocket. When I rejected this unfair demand, they threatened me with legal collection proceedings, and they failed to return my security deposit. I want to emphasize that I bear zero fault in this incident, as confirmed by the official police report.

I demand that Obilet and the rental company immediately drop all claims regarding these repair costs, refrain from initiating any legal action or debt collection against me, and return my security deposit in full.
