Goldcar Charged Me ₺13415 for Windshield Damage That Didn’t Exist at Return
I rented a Fiat Egea Cross from Europcar/Goldcar from October 12 to October 19, 2024. I returned the vehicle on October 19, on time and in perfect condition. During the return, the agent and I thoroughly inspected the car—interior, exterior, trunk, and tires—and confirmed there was no damage. The agent signed the delivery form but informed me it would remain with the company, so I received no copy. To my surprise, three days later, on October 22, I found a charge of ₺13,415 on my credit card, applied without my knowledge. When I contacted the airport rental office, I was told the charge was for a crack in the windshield. However, no such damage existed when I returned the vehicle, and nothing was noted during our inspection. The company has not provided a service invoice, repair details, or photographic evidence proving the damage or my responsibility. Charging such a large amount without notifying me or providing documentation is deeply concerning, and I strongly believe this damage might be related to another vehicle, as I returned mine in perfect condition. I am requesting full documentation and proof of the alleged damage and a prompt refund of the ₺13,415 charged without my consent. If my requests are not addressed, I will file a formal complaint with the Consumer Court to protect my rights.
