GCash Transfer Stuck Due To Expired Number And ID Rejections

I wish I had never used GCash to send money to another country. I sent money to a family member's GCash account on January 3, 2026, but I didn't know that the phone number connected to that account had already expired. We called GCash customer support and were told that the money was in that account and could be moved when we sent in the owner's ID. This would take up to nine business days, they said. They turned down the ID after more than two weeks because it was "missing details." We subsequently sent in another legitimate ID that belonged to the same person, but we were told that it still didn't match their data. No clear reason, just a lot of rejections. This technique is tiring and not very reliable. I will never use GCash to transmit money from another country again.
