On January 10, 2026, I sent money through GCash to a friend, and shortly after, I was told there was a problem with their account verification. I asked for a refund right away, but GCash refused, saying the funds were already processed, even though my friend never received the money. Their only solution was for my friend to apply again with a new government ID, which takes time to obtain. As of January 19, 2026, the account is still not approved, and my money is stuck. GCash gives no clear timeline, no support, and no responsibility while holding onto my funds.
