My Garmin Fenix 5X Battery Swelled and Damaged the Mainboard—No Spare Parts
The battery on my Garmin Fenix 5X swelled and ended up damaging the mainboard. I sent it to the authorized service center, and they told me the device cannot be repaired. Apparently, there are no available spare parts for it, which is shocking given the price I paid for this watch.
It’s incredibly disappointing that a premium product like this has no repair path once it fails. I expected long-term durability, especially from a brand like Garmin, but it seems support stops once your device hits a certain age.
If anyone has found a reliable service center or an alternative solution, I’d appreciate the recommendation. Otherwise, I strongly suggest you think twice before purchasing this model—because if something goes wrong, Garmin might leave you with no options.
