GAP Sweatpants Faded After Two Washes - Return Rejected

I purchased a GAP sweatsuit on January 15th, 2024. After two washes, the sweatpants faded significantly, while the sweatshirt remained in perfect condition. I returned the item to the store on February 1st, 2024, and was told that it would be sent for inspection. I waited a full month for a response but never received any communication from the store. When I followed up, I was told that the return had been rejected due to "user error."
How can this be considered user error when the sweatpants faded after just two washes, while the sweatshirt - washed at the same time and in the same manner - is perfectly fine? This is clearly a product defect, and I am extremely disappointed with GAP's handling of this situation.
I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency and am considering taking legal action. I will not give up until I receive a full refund or a replacement product.
