FedEx Delayed My Alibaba Dental Device Over a Wrong Shipping Fee Calculation
According to the regulations for purchasing personal items from abroad, the total cost of the product and shipping must not exceed €30. As someone aware of this rule, on January 24, 2024, I purchased a Dental Tartar Cleaning Device from Alibaba.com for $7.99, paying a discounted shipping fee of $9.10, bringing the total to $17.09. However, when the product arrived in my country via FedEx, customs clearance was not completed by N**** A****. The reason provided was that the product price was calculated as $7.99, but the shipping fee was inaccurately assessed at $29.10, making the total $37.09, which exceeds the €30 limit. Despite providing proof that the shipping fee was $9.10, Ms. N*** insisted it was $29.10 and directed me to contact 'Özdemir Customs Brokerage'. When I reached out to the brokerage, they stated the issue was not related to them and that I should contact FedEx again. Despite my explanations and proof, Ms. N*** maintained that the process would be based on a $29 shipping fee. However, the total amount I paid is $17.09, and another site, Temu, offers free shipping. I have reported this situation to the Ministry of Trade via CİMER and requested that the matter be resolved accurately based on the documentation I have provided. I ask that no further action be taken until a response is received.
