I purchased two 10 kg bags of Farmina ND Tropical Chicken Neutered Cat Food. As soon as I opened them—despite buying in December during winter—I noticed the food was sticky and smelled sour, which is highly unusual for dry kibble.
After feeding it to my two cats, they both started experiencing severe hair loss that continued for two weeks without improvement. I then switched to the Farmina ND Fish formula, and the hair loss immediately stopped, confirming the issue was with the Tropical Chicken variant.
I reached out to the brand and submitted photos, batch codes, and all relevant product info via email. They confirmed both bags were genuine, but they insisted there was no issue with the food—completely ignoring the sour smell and visible deterioration. They also refused my return request and blamed me, saying I should have stored the food better.
But I stored the bags indoors, in a cool, dark space, exactly as instructed. And the smell and stickiness were present the moment I opened the bags, meaning the damage had nothing to do with storage.
I paid a premium price for this food because I care deeply about my cats’ health. Now I’m left with two unusable 10 kg bags, and a complete lack of support from the brand I trusted.
