On the evening of January 11, 2025, I tried to book a suite at Snowdora Palandöken Hotel for our winter break through Etstur’s website. Even though I was logged in with my membership, I saw a member-exclusive price of $2,117 USD on the screen and planned our entire trip around that price.
For the winter break from January 19 to January 31, I arranged our accommodation from January 19 to January 26, along with travel dates and our ski school schedule based on that price. However, when I went to the purchase step, the system did not apply the member price I saw even though I was logged in, and instead asked me to pay $3,457 USD. In other words, the price I saw on the screen almost doubled, and no member discount was applied.
After noticing this problem around 10:00 PM last night, I called customer service. I spoke by phone a total of three times with Mr. G***, who said he also saw the discounted price I saw in the system and that he had opened a support ticket about it; however, even though some time has passed, no concrete solution has been offered. During this time, I also saw that the prices on the site were changed, and I took a screenshot of that as well.
I believe what happened to me is misleading and amounts to deceptive advertising. Showing customers a member price and then requesting a much higher amount at checkout clearly harms consumers. I request that the member price shown on the screen be fully honored for me, that my reservation be created at that price since I planned everything based on it, and that this issue be resolved promptly without delay or stalling so that I do not suffer any loss of rights.
