Unauthorized Epic Games Charge Attempt on My Virtual Card

On May 22, 2026, I received an SMS from my bank stating that a transaction of approximately $15 attempted through Epic Games Store using my virtual card had been declined due to an incorrect security code. This is how I found out that someone had attempted to make an unauthorized purchase using my card. I did not make this purchase and I have not shared my card information with anyone.
I contacted Epic Games and asked why a payment had been attempted on my card and who had initiated it. I was told that since the payment was declined, they could not tell me who made the attempt or what they were trying to purchase. As the actual cardholder, I find it completely unacceptable to be denied this information. If a payment attempt was made using my card on their platform, I believe the cardholder is entitled to at least basic information about that transaction.
To make matters worse, Epic Games simply provided me with their U.S. legal department address — Epic Games, Inc., Legal Department, Box 254, 2474 Walnut Street, Cary, North Carolina, 27518 — and told me to write there if I had a complaint. As a user in Turkey whose card was nearly compromised, I am being given no information about the transaction, the account involved, or anything else.
I am requesting that Epic Games clearly disclose who attempted this transaction using my card details, which account it was made from, and what product or service was being purchased. When an unauthorized transaction attempt is made on my card, withholding this information from the cardholder is unacceptable from both a security and a customer service standpoint.
