Unjust Enforcement Demand Following A Minor Incident (Enterprise Rent a Car)
Exactly one year ago, I accidentally hit the bumper of a parked car with my own vehicle. Although it was a minor incident, a small plastic piece in the middle of the bumper was damaged. I noticed the license plate holder said "Enterprise," indicating it was a rental. After some effort, I found the vehicle's owner, apologized and facilitated the preparation of an accident report. The owner thanked me repeatedly. Now, one year later, I received an “unenforced payment order” from the enforcement office under the title “loss of earnings determination” from Enterprise. The order claims costs for the 4 days the car spent in the repair shop, expert fees, legal interest, and more, amounting to 6,755.32 TL. Despite my good intentions to take responsibility, I am now faced with this enforcement case. As a corporate company, it’s possible your legal department initiated this action automatically without fully understanding the situation. However, I hope you will correct this mistake and withdraw the demand. I sincerely hope you do not resemble non-corporate companies that turn such incidents into profit opportunities. Otherwise, you would be penalizing my honesty and, perhaps more importantly, losing a customer. I kindly request a response to my request, whether positive or negative. Thank you.
