I Bought the Dyson Airstrait and It Severely Damaged My Hair

I purchased the Dyson Airstrait directly from Dyson’s official website, expecting a premium product that would care for my hair. Unfortunately, after using it just a few times, my hair started to dry out badly, becoming noticeably thinner, rough, and tangled. It has become nearly impossible to brush my hair now. This is incredibly frustrating, especially considering how expensive this device is compared to others on the market.

I tried contacting customer service multiple times but received no meaningful help. The only response I got was, “We can offer usage guidance, but returns are not accepted after 14 days.” Honestly, how can anyone evaluate hair damage from a heat-styling tool in just 14 days of minimal use?

I’ve used devices that cost a tenth of the price and they performed significantly better without damaging my hair. Dyson markets itself as a leader in hair technology, but this product has caused me real distress. I feel misled and unsupported. I’m asking Dyson to take responsibility and offer a refund or replacement, and to reconsider their return policy for products with delayed visible effects. My trust in the brand has been seriously damaged.

I contacted you again and explained the situation clearly once more. I lost my hair, and now I can't even comb it with handfuls of conditioner. The same memorized sentence is told to me: 'We can't do anything because the 14-day period has passed.' I sent the device to you. You messaged me saying, 'We are correcting the performance and sending the device back to you.' There was no problem with the performance anyway. The straightening was just fine; the problem was that the product did not work well for my hair. I don't understand if you're joking, you couldn't provide any solution other than making excuses. Dyson has lost its credibility for me and everyone around me. I will seek my rights at the consumer arbitration board.
