On March 7, 2026, I took my Citroen C5 Aircross 1.5 BlueHDi Feel Adventure to the Citroen Çetaş Büyükçekmece service center to take advantage of their voluntary camshaft chain replacement campaign. For a long time, I had been experiencing a noticeable chain noise in my vehicle when starting a cold engine in the mornings, until the engine warms up. Before handing over the vehicle, I explained the situation in detail to the service advisor, I showed Mr. H*** the video recordings I had, and specifically stated that this noise was only audible when the engine was cold, until it warmed up, and that the test should be performed under these conditions. Mr. H*** said they use an AI tool that listens to the sound and identifies the problem. After, Mr. H*** reported that no chain noise was detected. Despite reminding him again that a cold engine test should be performed in the morning, he said they could not perform the test again. When I went to pick up the vehicle later, I watched the video again with the service manager, Mr. H***. He also acknowledged that there was a problem with the timing chain, but said that the AI test result was negative, and therefore they could not take any action beyond the test result. Because of this, I did not accept the vehicle and contacted Citroen Turkey headquarters. Headquarters informed me that the test would not be repeated and that I had no rights in this matter. When I went to pick up the vehicle again, Mr. H***, Mr. H*** and a friend with me tried starting the engine of the car, which had been waiting in the service center for several days, and all four of us witnessed the sound of the timing chain. Despite this, I was told that no action could be taken because the AI system used via phone did not detect this sound. I stated that I would pursue legal action and sent a formal notice to the service center and Citroen headquarters. Following the notice, Citroen headquarters contacted me. I provided the videos I had. I was told they would respond, but they didn't. However, the process was left unresolved, and my case was closed without my knowledge. However, the malfunction I have described not only poses financial risks but also endangers life safety in the event of an accident. Even life safety has been disregarded. I request that the camshaft chain and related parts in my vehicle be replaced under the voluntary recall program without any additional cost to me, and that my inconvenience be resolved.
