Tesla Model Y Rocker Panel Damage in Winter Conditions
After driving my Tesla Model Y Juniper on intercity roads under winter conditions in January 2026, I noticed wear and damage on the rocker panels and fender plastics caused by road debris kicked up by the tires. Although the vehicle did not hit anything and there was no physical contact, such noticeable wear occurring solely from road spray raises serious concerns about the quality of the materials used.
During my service appointment in Ankara, I explained the situation in detail and stated that my vehicle is still under warranty, requesting that the damaged plastic parts be replaced under warranty. However, the service classified this issue as “body damage caused by external factors” and refused to cover it under warranty. I have driven many different vehicles in similar and even harsher winter conditions for extended periods and have never experienced this kind of wear or damage.
I believe that damage occurring under normal driving conditions and in such a short time indicates a problem with design or material quality. Therefore, I request that all damaged parts—especially the rocker panels and fender plastics affected by road debris—be replaced under warranty at no additional cost. I also request that this issue be technically investigated to prevent it from recurring in similar vehicles and that I be provided with a written explanation.
