Duracell AA Battery Flashed During Use in Child’s Toy

I recently experienced a concerning incident involving Duracell AA batteries that I had placed inside my child’s toy. While the toy was being used, one of the batteries suddenly sparked, which was extremely alarming—especially since a child was using the toy at the time. Fortunately, neither my child nor anyone else was injured, and there was no visible damage to the toy or our property. However, this incident, which occurred on January 13, 2026, has seriously shaken my trust in the safety of this product, particularly when used in children’s toys.
I have not yet contacted Duracell or the store where I purchased the batteries. Through this complaint, I am requesting a clear explanation of how such an incident could happen and a formal apology for this safety-related issue. I expect Duracell to take this matter seriously, investigate the cause, and provide information that will reassure me—and other parents—about the safety of their products, especially when they are used by children.
Dear Customer, Your complaint has been received by us, and after the necessary investigations, you will be informed as soon as possible. Regards, Duracell
Dear Customer, We were unable to reach you. In order for us to assist you regarding this matter, we kindly ask you to contact us. Sincerely, Duracell

The customer service representative called and said that the issue might have occurred due to the storage conditions or expiration date of the batteries on the seller's side. He gave a brief explanation. He informed us that they will send a new one to replace the exploded battery. I thank Duracell for the information and for getting back to us as quickly as possible.
