On September 13, 2024, I purchased the DeLonghi Magnifica Start ECAM220.31.SB Automatic Coffee Machine from the MediaMarkt online store. After brewing only about 10 to 15 cups of coffee, the machine unexpectedly switched to descaling mode. I followed the descaling instructions step by step, but the process never completed, and the machine did not exit descaling mode, leaving me unable to brew coffee.
I took the machine to the service center, where it remained for a week. The technicians informed me that returning the machine to normal mode takes a long time, but after servicing, they returned it as if it was functioning correctly. Unfortunately, after brewing another 10 to 15 cups, the same descaling mode error occurred again.
Despite carefully following the user manual and using clean, prepared water, the machine repeatedly enters descaling mode and does not return to normal operation. I called DeLonghi multiple times, but they only directed me back to the service center. The service center, in turn, stated that future services would be chargeable. The service location is far from my home, and I would have to carry this 5-6 kg machine every time the same error occurs, which is impractical and frustrating.
This ongoing issue has made me lose my enjoyment of coffee and severely shaken my trust in the DeLonghi brand. I believe this machine has a manufacturing defect, as no coffee machine should require descaling after only 10 to 15 uses, nor should the descaling process fail repeatedly.
I request a hassle-free replacement of my faulty machine with a new, fully functioning unit that does not suffer from this recurring error. Please resolve this issue urgently and restore my confidence in your products.
