I booked a 7-day car rental through Carjet, scheduled for pickup at Düsseldorf Airport. The platform directed me to a partner company called Flex GO, which offered what seemed like the best price. With full insurance included, the total cost was around $330 (about 11,000 TRY at the time), and I also paid an additional $75 (around 2,500 TRY) for extra coverage through Carjet.
However, when I arrived at Düsseldorf Airport to pick up the car, Flex GO demanded an additional €450, claiming that my Turkish driver’s license was not valid. This information had never been disclosed during booking, and the situation felt misleading and unfair.
To make matters worse, the company’s location was difficult to find — it wasn’t even inside the airport but rather inside a hotel far away, with no proper signage. I had to rely on a helpful Turkish passerby to locate the office. When I finally found it, the staff were dismissive and unprofessional, especially after noticing my Turkish license.
Because of the delay and their uncooperative behavior, the pickup time expired, meaning I couldn’t cancel or get a refund. I was forced to pay the extra €450 and accept a different car model than the one I originally reserved. I didn’t want to ruin my trip, so I reluctantly went along with it.
I am extremely disappointed with both Carjet and its partner, Flex GO, for their dishonest pricing, poor treatment, and lack of transparency. I am demanding a refund of the €450 extra charge, which was unjustified and never mentioned in my booking terms.
