I Got Charged for Airport Pickup Without Warning by Europcar Düsseldorf
I recently rented a car from Europcar and picked it up from Düsseldorf Airport. At no point during the booking process was I informed of any extra fees related to picking up the car at the airport. Everything seemed fine—until I checked my credit card statement and saw that I was charged an additional €54 (roughly ₺) without any prior notice or explanation.
This kind of hidden charge feels incredibly dishonest. If there was going to be an extra fee for an airport pickup, it should have been clearly stated up front—not silently deducted after the fact. I feel misled and taken advantage of by Europcar. When I contacted customer service, I received no satisfying explanation or apology.
This isn’t how a global rental company should treat its customers. I urge Europcar to refund the unauthorized charge immediately and commit to more transparent billing practices. I also caution other travelers to double-check every fine print with this company. If I had known this would happen, I would have chosen a different rental provider.
