Avis Budget Charged Me Despite Full Insurance After Car Accident
Between January 16–20, 2025, I rented a car through Avis-Budget on the Turkish Airlines website for a trip to Milan. On January 19, 2025, I was involved in a car accident while abroad. Fortunately, I had purchased full protection insurance, and at the time of the incident, I was clearly told that I would not be responsible for any payments and could safely return to my home country without concern.
However, to my shock, my credit card was later charged €6,367.94, which amounts to ₺244,517.47! This charge is absolutely unjustified given the insurance coverage I paid for. I immediately contacted Avis Türkiye and Avis Italy Customer Services on February 17, 2025, via email, explaining the entire situation and requesting a refund. To this day, I have received no reply and no refund has been issued.
This is completely unacceptable behavior for a global company like Avis-Budget. They are ignoring customer complaints and mishandling insured incidents. I am formally demanding an immediate refund of the full amount that was wrongly charged to my card. I will also escalate this issue further if necessary. Avis-Budget must be held accountable and must not be allowed to treat paying, insured customers this way.
