Brooks Brothers Online Shirt Had Poor Quality and Missing Tags

I have been a loyal Brooks Brothers customer for years and have purchased shirts from Brooks Brothers stores many times. I have always been satisfied with the quality of the products. However, when I visited one of the stores on August 5, 2026, I noticed that there was a difference between the in-store prices and the online prices, so I decided to make my purchase through the online store instead.
I ordered two light blue, 100% linen, button-down, regular-fit, long-sleeve shirts with product code BBSS26MSH022116 from the online store. My order number was 1000063391.
The products were delivered to me on August 6, 2026. I noticed that one of the shirts did not have its packaging or tags, but I did not consider it a major issue at the time and wore the shirt. However, on August 7, when I took a closer look at the shirt during the day, I realized that the ice-blue 100% linen shirt was not up to the Brooks Brothers quality I am accustomed to. Unlike the Brooks Brothers shirts I have regularly worn in the past, this shirt had noticeable pilling, loose thread ends, and an overall poor-quality appearance similar to what can be seen in the photos I have provided.
As a result, I contacted the online customer service team the following day and reported the problem. I requested that the defective shirt be returned and replaced with a new one. However, instead of sending me a replacement, the company canceled the entire order. This experience has seriously increased my concern that customers purchasing through the online store may be receiving counterfeit products or products that do not meet the brand's expected quality standards.
If any authorized representative claims that the product is not counterfeit, I request that they contact me directly and provide a concrete explanation and evidence confirming the product's authenticity and compliance with Brooks Brothers' quality standards. I also expect my inconvenience to be properly addressed. In particular, I ask Brooks Brothers to review its online sales processes and quality-control procedures to prevent similar incidents from happening again and to adopt a transparent approach that does not undermine customer trust.
I would also like to warn other consumers that, based on my experience, purchasing Brooks Brothers products directly from a physical store—where you can inspect the product in person and verify its quality before purchasing—may be a safer option when possible.
