Unable to Contact Host After Booking in Jakarta – Refund Still Not Provided

I booked accommodation in Jakarta, Indonesia, through Booking.com and completed the online payment. However, I could not get in touch with the host despite repeated attempts. After further research, I discovered that this is a common scam tactic in Indonesia.

I immediately requested a refund, but Booking.com has only confirmed that they, too, have been unable to reach the host for months. Despite this, they have not issued a refund for the reservation. It is deeply disappointing to see a platform as established as Booking.com allow such fraudulent listings and fail to protect its customers.

I strongly advise against making non-refundable payments through Booking.com. This experience has eroded my trust in the platform. I demand an immediate refund and expect Booking.com to address these fraudulent practices to prevent other travelers from being exploited.
