Booking.com Refused to Refund Me for Reservation Cancellation
Good day, I am writing this email deeply disappointed by the service I have received. I made a booking at a property called Villa Arty Bali on May 9, 2025, and received confirmation number 4398553795. On June 6, 2025, I requested a cancellation after realizing the property is located outside my country—I'm based in Durban, South Africa. I was informed there would be a 50% cancellation fee, but no one explained how or when I would receive the remaining 50%. When I asked for my refund, Booking.com referred me to the property, and the property claimed it was Booking.com's responsibility to process the refund. I feel completely misled, as neither party is taking accountability. Booking.com's customer care told me they can’t refund me unless they receive legal documents from the property, yet the property refuses to cooperate. This constant back-and-forth is incredibly frustrating and unethical. Attached are all communications between the property and Booking.com.
