Brand-New BMW X1 Shows Drivetrain Warning Days After Purchase
On December 22, 2025, I purchased a brand-new 2025 BMW X1 Plug-in Hybrid from Borusan Avcılar.
Only a very short time after purchasing the vehicle, on Wednesday, December 24, the car displayed a “drivetrain malfunction” warning on the screen four separate times while driving. Experiencing such a critical warning in a brand-new vehicle has deeply disappointed me and caused serious concerns about the safety and reliability of the car.
The following day, I took the vehicle to the service center and handed it over. Despite this, no replacement vehicle was provided to me. Later, I was contacted by the service department and informed that the electric motor would need to be completely replaced.
I clearly consider it unacceptable that a brand-new, zero-mileage vehicle requires a full electric motor replacement within its very first days of use, and I regard this situation as a defective product. My vehicle has now been in service for three days, and it is still unclear how long it will remain there due to the motor replacement.
When I requested a replacement vehicle during this process, I was given only a vague response such as, “We will call you on Monday regarding a replacement car,” with no certainty or clear commitment. It is not acceptable that I received a defective vehicle at delivery and that my inconvenience continues without even being provided a temporary replacement car.
I am formally requesting that Borusan and BMW replace this vehicle, which I consider defective, with a new one, and that a replacement vehicle be provided immediately for the entire period during which I am left without my car.
