BMW 2025 X1 Drivetrain Malfunction Warning - Software Update Issue
I received a drivetrain malfunction warning in my 2025 BMW X1 Plug-in vehicle. When I took it to the Kosifler Oto Antalya Turkiye Service, where I purchased it, they told me that the electric gauge should not fall below 5%, and that I would receive this error when the battery is depleted. The electric range of the vehicle is 80 km, and I need to charge it constantly. If that’s the case, I would have bought a fully electric car. Also, this information was not provided to me by the sales team when I purchased the vehicle. When I conveyed what the service staff told me to the person who handed over the vehicle to me on behalf of BMW, their comment was, “That can’t be right—let them tell us, and then we won’t sell plug-in vehicles anymore,” which was quite dismissive. I mentioned that, according to comments on Xolvie, the issue was resolved when software from Germany was uploaded. After I brought this up, they told me they updated the software—but I continue to receive the same error. When I drive the car in Sport Mode and use regenerative charging, I don’t get the drivetrain error. But this is not a real solution. This is a vehicle worth ₺4–5 million (100.000USD) , and such a simple error still hasn’t been resolved with a reasonable explanation or a permanent fix. I’m not sure how I will feel about taking the car to this service again if other malfunctions occur.
