Brand New Babyliss Hair Straightener Not Working and Won't Turn On
I live in a city where the Media Markt store is located, and it's a 2-hour drive from me. On July 28, 2023, at 16:34, I purchased a Babyliss hair straightener from this store. I was in a hurry, and it didn't cross my mind that a product costing 3,000 ₺ could have any defects. Due to the long queue at the cashier, I paid immediately and left. When I returned home, I arranged my things, threw away the box, but always keep the receipts. The next day, around 16:00, I plugged in the straightener, and the product didn't work—no lights, no heat, nothing. The package with the item was intact and undamaged. I went to the nearest Media Markt store and explained the situation. They said that without the box, they couldn't assist with a refund, check, or exchange. They mentioned they would create the necessary forms and direct me to the service, but without the box, repairs, product inspection, and other procedures might be conducted, and I wouldn't be able to make any claims. I paid 3,000 ₺ for the straightener when I could have chosen a cheaper option. I chose the Babyliss brand for its durability, being a reliable brand in its field, and I wanted to buy from a trustworthy store. I saw online that I could buy it cheaper, but it's my fault that I trusted these two brands. Now I have to wait for a month, I've lost 3,000 ₺, I don't have a straightener, and during this period when I can't use it, I feel deceived by my own money. When I bought the item, there was an image at the cashier, the product was in a Koton bag, it had a receipt, and I noticed and returned it within 24 hours. I expect my issues to be resolved from both sides. I was planning to go on vacation, and I don't have a straightener, and I don't have extra money to buy one now.
