By default, Avast activates automatic subscription renewal when you pay for any of its paid products. If you didn’t disable this feature in advance, the system automatically charges your card on the day your previous period ends.
However, according to both the law and the company’s own policy, you have the right to cancel the renewal and receive a refund within a set period (usually 30 days).
To cancel auto-renewal:
Go to the official Avast website and sign in to your account.
In the Subscriptions section, select your active subscription.
Click Cancel auto-renewal and confirm the action.
After cancellation, you’ll receive a confirmation email — keep it as proof.
To request a refund:
Visit Support → Refund Request on the Avast website.
Enter the email address used for your subscription and your order number (you can find it in the email from Digital River or Nexway — Avast’s official payment partners).
Explain the situation: that the renewal occurred without your consent, and request a full refund.
If Avast does not respond or refuses to refund you, submit a claim to your bank requesting a chargeback (dispute of the charge).
Don’t let companies renew subscriptions without your permission.
If Avast renewed your subscription without authorization and refuses to return your money, file a complaint on Xolvie. Your feedback will help other users recover their funds and stop unfair automatic charges.
