My New ASUS PA32UCG-K Monitor Overheats and Makes Noise
I purchased the Asus PA32UCG-K monitor on April 13, 2022, and from the very start, it has proven to be problematic. As outlined on the official product page, the brightness boost and HDR activation led to an unbearable fan noise, reaching approximately 70 decibels, making it practically impossible to work at the computer without risking one's health.
Assuming it was a software issue, I diligently followed Asus's official website for software updates, installing them as recommended. However, even after 3-4 updates, the problem persisted, leading me to suspect a hardware issue. On November 14, 2023, I submitted the monitor to the Asus authorized service center (Service Record No: TRB8RB0760).
Upon its return on November 16, 2023, I was informed that comprehensive tests were conducted, and no issues were found. Frustratingly, both Asus customer service and the authorized service center reiterated that there was no problem, urging me to check my computer hardware.
Frustrated, I connected the monitor to another computer, only to encounter the same persistent issue. It is evident that both Asus representatives and SMS Infocom, the authorized service center, have refused to provide repair services for my defective and under-warranty product, forcing me to use a faulty item.
I have notified Asus customer service of my intention to exercise all my legal rights, emphasizing that customers cannot be compelled to use faulty products. As a last resort, I have lodged a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Board to resolve the issue or replace my still-under-warranty product. While I respect Asus's corporate identity and use many of their products, the lack of support for my defective item has left me with no choice but to bring attention to this issue.
