ASUS ROG Strix Repair Cost Nearly Matches Original Purchase Price

Approximately three years ago, when my son was accepted into a computer engineering program at university, I purchased an ASUS ROG Strix laptop from Vatan Computer in Malatya for ₺50,000. Despite my limited financial means, I made this significant investment so that my son could use the computer reliably throughout his university studies.

I expected a device purchased at such a high price to function properly for at least several years. However, the computer developed a fault last month, and we sent it to ASUS's authorized service center in Istanbul for repair. Shortly after we handed over the device, ASUS customer service contacted my son and informed him that the repair would cost ₺49,035. The repair quotation includes a motherboard replacement and several maintenance services.

Demanding almost the same amount as the original purchase price to repair a computer that is only around three years old is unacceptable. A device of this price and quality should not become virtually unusable within such a short period. This situation raises serious concerns about the product's quality and durability.

I request that ASUS repair the computer at a reasonable and acceptable cost. If necessary, I expect a customer-friendly solution that includes discounts on replacement parts and labor charges, rather than placing such an excessive financial burden on the customer.

Given that the computer developed such a serious fault within approximately three years and that the proposed repair cost is nearly equal to the original purchase price, I ask both ASUS and Vatan Computer to take responsibility for resolving this matter and compensating me for the inconvenience. I hope they will offer a fair and affordable solution that allows my son to continue using the computer for his university studies.
