I am experiencing a severe and disturbing light leakage problem on the IPS display of my Asus ROG Strix G18 gaming laptop. I purchased the device via Trendyol through GPN Teknoloji, and I noticed this issue within the first month after purchase. On dark scenes and dim backgrounds, certain areas of the screen show intense brightness and light bleed, which seriously reduces image quality during both gaming and video viewing.
When I contacted the seller and authorized parties about this, I was told that the problem is “normal” and no solution was offered. However, I do not believe that this level of light leakage is acceptable—especially on a premium gaming laptop in this price segment.
I consider this product defective and am requesting an exchange for a properly functioning unit. I respectfully ask that the issue be reanalyzed, that a thorough inspection of the screen be conducted, and that my consumer rights be protected.
Additionally, even with my 13-year-old Dell laptop I have never encountered such a problem. The current price of this laptop at the store where I bought it is 176,999 TL, and since I paid that amount expecting a flawless product, I cannot accept even minor defects. This is my final attempt to resolve this matter directly. If this issue is not resolved satisfactorily, my next step will be to apply to the Consumer Arbitration Board for a refund based on the current value of the product.
