I purchased a pair of Asics GT-2160 running shoes from the official website on August 29, 2024. Initially, I was very happy with the comfort and performance. But just a few months after I started wearing them, I noticed tears forming in the upper mesh area on both shoes—right and left. Given the light usage and short time frame, I expected this to be covered under warranty.
I contacted Asics customer service, and they promptly sent a return label so I could ship the product in for inspection. After waiting three weeks, the shoes were returned to me unrepaired, along with a note stating that the issue was not due to a manufacturing defect. That’s unacceptable.
I called customer support again hoping for a real solution, but all they did was listen—no action, no resolution. The shoes were structurally intact when they arrived, but the damage occurred during normal use. That should fall under warranty. Clearly, this is not a one-off issue, as the same defect appeared on both shoes. It raises concerns about the quality of materials, design, and production oversight.
I’m not asking for a new pair—I simply want Asics to re-examine this product properly, take responsibility, and investigate the root cause, whether it’s poor material selection, design flaws, or a failure in quality control. As a consumer, I deserve more than a generic rejection letter.
At this point, I’ll think twice before purchasing another pair of Asics shoes. I sincerely hope someone from the company reads this and decides to stand behind their product and their reputation.
