Can’t Make Purchases on Apple Store — “Payment Method Was Declined” Error
For the past 1–2 months, I haven’t been able to make online purchases through the Apple Store app using my Garanti BBVA debit card. Although my card is enabled for online transactions and I have sufficient balance, every time I try to make a payment, I receive the following error message:
“Your payment method was declined. Tap Continue to update your payment method. If you cancel, you won’t be able to make purchases until this billing issue is resolved.”
I can use the same card on other platforms like Trendyol without any problems, but this issue occurs only within the Apple Store, especially when trying to purchase in-game items. I have already removed and re-added my card details, even renewed my card, yet the issue still persists.
When I contacted Apple customer service, they suggested that I enable my card for online payments, but as I explained, it’s already active for such transactions. In addition, there are no debts, pending payments, or restrictions on my Apple ID.
No matter the purchase amount, the outcome remains the same. I request that this issue be resolved promptly and that Apple apologize for the inconvenience I’ve experienced due to this ongoing payment problem.
