Apple Store Wrongfully Charged My Card for YouCam Makeup Annual Subscription

October 8, 2025 11:22 PM26

I downloaded the “YouCam Makeup” app from the Apple Store. In the app description, it clearly stated that there was a seven-day free trial. I only clicked to start the free trial, but ₺3,000 was instantly charged to my card, and a one-year subscription was automatically activated. However, I had selected only the seven-day free trial option, and I canceled the subscription within an hour of downloading the app.

Following this, I immediately filed a complaint with Apple, but I haven’t received any response yet. The payment was charged to my QNB Finansbank card, and there’s no transaction reference number shown in my Apple account for this purchase. I also noticed hundreds of similar complaints in the App Store reviews from other users who experienced the same issue. I truly don’t understand how this app is still allowed to remain on the platform. It’s unacceptable for users to be misled and charged in this way.

I never used the app beyond that initial hour — I only intended to try the free trial. Therefore, I request an immediate refund of the ₺3,000 that was wrongfully charged to my account.

Were you able to receive refund? I had the same problem but Apple denied my refund request.
