I Face Unexpected Customs Fee After AliExpress Purchase
I purchased an electronic Strong milling machine from AliExpress and paid ₺3,200 for it via credit card. However, more than two weeks after placing my order, I received a phone call today from someone claiming that the product was being held at customs and that I needed to pay an additional ₺3,300 to have it released.
When I made the purchase, no such information about extra charges was provided, and this situation has caused me serious inconvenience. The caller stated that if I did not pay the extra fee, the product would not be delivered, and they promised to send me an email with details — yet no email has been received so far.
This experience has caused me both financial and emotional distress, and I’ve completely lost trust in the process. Since I refuse to pay an unannounced extra fee, I initiated a refund request today, and I was informed that the refund process should be completed within 5 days.
Because there was no prior disclosure of any additional charges during the purchase, I request that my grievance be resolved and that the ₺3,200 I paid be refunded to me as soon as possible.
