AJet Overbooking Denied Boarding – Refund and Compensation Claim
On 16 August 2026 I was denied boarding on Ajet flight VF-109 from Istanbul to Budapest due to overbooking, even though I had a valid ticket and arrived at the airport on time. Because of this denied boarding I incurred significant inconvenience and had to change my travel plans. The next day, on 17 August, I applied to Ajet for a refund as instructed. Since then I have submitted my bank details several times, including the same Revolut account in Lithuania that I originally used to purchase the ticket, as well as my Lithuanian Swedbank account, both in my own name. Ajet has rejected both of these accounts without giving any clear reason and keeps asking me to fill in the forms again. I also contacted Ajet customer service, but they still did not provide any explanation for why my Lithuanian bank accounts are not accepted for the refund and simply repeated that I should try to submit the forms again. This repetitive process has already taken a long time and I still have not received the refund for a flight on which I was denied boarding due to overbooking. I request that Ajet immediately processes and pays my full refund to one of the Lithuanian accounts I have already provided, without any further unjustified rejections, and that they also review my case for appropriate compensation for denied boarding and the inconvenience caused.
