Airbnb Host Sent Me Discriminatory Messages During My Stay in Nicosia

On August 15, 2025, I stayed at an Airbnb property in the Nicosia region, where I experienced unacceptable and discriminatory behavior from the host. During my stay, the host sent me disturbing messages through the Airbnb messaging platform, targeting me specifically for being a Turkish citizen.
In the message, the host stated that Turkish guests “do not understand what they read,” that their ratings are low, and that for this reason, he planned to filter requests from Turkey more strictly. He even mentioned wanting to block all reservations coming from Turkey on Airbnb. Additionally, he made negative generalizations about Turkish people that were offensive and discriminatory.
This incident occurred on August 21, 2025, at 22:22 through Airbnb’s official chat system. Although I completed my stay, I left the property earlier than planned because of the discomfort this caused me. I paid a total of ₺4,090.42, and my reservation number is HMSBN4AKQW. I reported the issue to Airbnb customer service but received no response or follow-up.
I find this behavior completely unacceptable. No guest should ever face racial or national discrimination on Airbnb.
I demand that Airbnb investigate this matter, issue a warning to the host, and enforce strict penalties against such discriminatory conduct.
