Air Albania Overbooked My Flight & Cost Me Extra—Still No Compensation
On August 19, 2024, I arrived at the check-in counter three hours early for Air Albania Flight ZB1010 from Tirana to Istanbul. Despite being on time, I was told the flight was overbooked, and without my consent, I was transferred to Flight ZB1003 at 20:25—even after explaining that I had a connecting flight from Istanbul to Bodrum.
Because of this, I had to pay an extra ₺2,680 to rebook my Istanbul-Bodrum flight for 01:25 AM. Then, due to a delay, Flight ZB1003 departed at 11:00 PM, causing me to miss my new connection. I was forced to spend ₺1,600 more to book a flight for the next day.
I requested compensation for the overbooking and my additional flight costs. Air Albania promised to pay but never did. They also failed to provide documentation confirming the overbooking despite multiple requests.
Air Albania, refund my money immediately! This is unacceptable treatment of passengers. Travelers, beware—this airline may overbook your flight and leave you covering the costs!
