I Canceled My Agoda Booking Due to Illness but Can’t Get My Refund Approved

I had to cancel my hotel reservation made through Agoda (Reservation No: 1616705256) due to serious health issues. I was in no condition to even visit a doctor, let alone chase down a refund. Unfortunately, Agoda made the process even worse by offering no real customer service—only a useless AI chatbot that kept going in circles.
I personally contacted the hotel, and we agreed on a full refund. The hotel was understanding and willing to help, but since the reservation was made through Agoda, they needed Agoda to process it. And that’s where everything fell apart. I couldn’t reach a single human being at Agoda to finalize the refund.
This experience showed me how risky it is to use a third-party booking site, even when the hotel is cooperative. With so many alternatives available, I deeply regret using Agoda and won’t be booking through them again. Agoda, you need to take responsibility and refund my payment as agreed with the hotel. Start treating your customers like people, not tickets in a queue.

They contacted me immediately and the issue was resolved very quickly. I received better service than from many Turkish agencies. The only thing that could be considered lacking is that Turkish customer service is not provided.
