I purchased the Yves Rocher Elixir Botanique SPF 50+ face sunscreen, trusting its reputation and the brand’s promise of skincare protection. Unfortunately, after applying the cream, I noticed brown spots developing on the bridge of my nose—something I had never experienced before, even when exposed to the sun without any sunscreen.
Normally, I would only get mild redness in that area. Ironically, I used sunscreen for the first time to prevent that, and while there was no redness this time, the result was far worse: clearly visible, freckle-like brown pigmentation that has now become permanent.
I immediately stopped using the product and contacted Yves Rocher via email. I sent photos showing the pigmentation, but their response was dismissive. They claimed there was no product issue and offered no refund, apology, or solution.
This product is marketed as anti-dark spot and protective, yet it has visibly damaged my skin despite me having no history of such issues—and despite having a darker complexion, which typically shows fewer reactions like this. The product not only failed its basic function, it also did the exact opposite of what it promised.
To make matters worse, the brand’s complete lack of accountability and customer care has left me even more disappointed. I do not recommend this product or brand to anyone looking for safe and effective sun care. I urge Yves Rocher to take responsibility and offer support to those negatively affected by their products.
