On January 13, 2025, at 3:57 PM, I received a call on the WhatsApp application installed on my Samsung S21 device from a foreign phone number, +258 87 010 ***. I do not recognize this number, and I strongly suspect that it may be used for fraudulent purposes.
I did not answer the call from this number under any circumstances and did not share any personal information, passwords, verification codes, or payment details. However, due to concerns for both my own safety and the safety of other users, I reported and blocked the number through the WhatsApp application.
I respectfully request that the WhatsApp team conduct a detailed investigation into this number, perform the necessary checks, and permanently block the number if deemed appropriate. I also ask that stricter monitoring and preventive measures focused on user safety be implemented regarding similar suspicious numbers.
