I’m experiencing a very frustrating issue with the latest version of WhatsApp. My contacts appear correctly in my phone’s regular address book, but when I open WhatsApp, the names are completely mixed up or assigned incorrectly. For example, someone saved as “A****” in my contacts shows up as another unrelated contact in WhatsApp. This is not only confusing but also makes it hard to know who I’m messaging, which is a serious concern for both personal and professional communication.
I’ve confirmed that this isn’t an issue with my device or how I saved the contacts—everything is accurate in the native Contacts app. This looks like a bug introduced in the most recent WhatsApp update, and I’ve seen many others report the exact same issue today, so it’s clearly not an isolated case.
This situation is extremely annoying and is starting to cause real stress. I kindly ask WhatsApp’s technical team to urgently investigate and fix this bug, or at the very least release a statement acknowledging the problem. People rely on WhatsApp for everyday communication, and this kind of error breaks user trust. Please address this issue as soon as possible.
