I Changed My Phone and WhatsApp Merged My Contacts Incorrectly After Backup

After switching to a new phone, I installed WhatsApp and completed the backup restore process as usual. But shortly afterward, my contacts became a complete mess. Names got mixed up, and multiple numbers appeared under the same contact—even when they were unrelated. It was confusing and frustrating, especially since I rely on WhatsApp for both personal and professional communication.

I contacted the WhatsApp Help Center immediately and followed all of their instructions step by step, but the issue wasn’t resolved. I even deleted my account and reinstalled the app, hoping to reset everything. Still, the same contact mix-up kept happening—and worse, now even my phone's main contact list is affected.

What’s more disappointing is that I reached out to WhatsApp Support multiple times again, but I haven’t received any response. This issue is clearly caused by the app’s syncing or backup system, yet there's no real support to fix it. I expect a proper technical investigation and a permanent fix before more users end up in the same situation. Please address this problem urgently and respond to my support request.
