I Received a Message on WhatsApp from a +91 Number and I’m Deeply Concerned

I received a WhatsApp message from a number starting with the +91 country code, which I confirmed belongs to India after doing some online research. I want to state very clearly that I have absolutely no personal or commercial relationship with anyone in India. This unsolicited contact made me feel extremely uncomfortable and concerned.

I immediately blocked the number, but I am formally filing a complaint. I strongly suspect that my phone number was accessed or shared without my consent. If my number or identity is ever used for unauthorized activities such as account takeovers, private data access, setting up a company, making purchases, or generating debts in my name—I will not accept any responsibility under any circumstances. I hold WhatsApp entirely accountable for safeguarding user privacy and preventing such breaches.
